The Northside Marauders came to play rugby on a sunny but cool afternoon this past Saturday, October 3rd. This was evident in their strong scums and hard tackling from start to finish. The Denver Highlanders' hard running and team play led to finding a few gaps and getting the ball out wide for a half time score of 47-5. The second half was more of the same: hard tackles and big scrums, but the Denver Highlanders would not be denied, adding another 24 points in the second half of play, for a final score of 71-5. Eleven tries were scored, with one each for Derek Smith, Adam Price, Taylor Utt, and Jeff Westbrook, and two each for Rocco Petramala and Eric Landauer. Nate Roe put in a great performance, not only holding the ball with both hands for most of the time he had the ball, but finding the try line three times for a hat trick. Eight of our eleven tries were converted with Adam kicking to convert six.
