Denver Highlanders' Old Boys
The Denver Highlander Old Boys Rugby Club is one of the most active old boy groups in the nation with a diverse group of grey-haired and balding ruggers.
We play touch on Thursday nights at Pulaski Park in Denver, tour the nation and beyond annually and often meet to talk about how good we once were. The older we get, the better we were.
In the past 10-plus years, we have toured to San Diego, CA; Portland, OR; Madison, WI; Albuquerque, NM; Las Vegas, NV; Washington, DC; Baton Rouge, LA; Santa Monica, CA; Anchorage, Alaska; Missoula, MT, Scottsdale, AZ as well as Watford, England and Laintwit Major, Wales during the 2015 Rugby World Cup. A tour to Scottsdale, AZ is planned for March.
The Denver Highlanders are more than a rugby club and the Old Boys are an integral part of the Highlander family.
Thursday night is our night with touch at Pulaski Parks and drinks at the Highlander home bar, WT Shorty’s after. We often meet on weekends to support the actives, work out or play touch.
The old boys typically set up a couple of matches with local teams and do at least one tour per year. For the past couple of years we have kept our tours short and sweet. Our typical tour usually involves at least one match with the hosting club, a lively kangaroo court and of course visits to as many of the local establishments as possible!
